Loved seeing this three-page article in ShortList last week - the magazine sent a reporter to the Porsche Human Performance centre for their 'Get Race Fit' event earlier this year. Take a look at some fantastic images sent to us by Andy Blow at PHP, you can view them here and here. Testing drivers and riders from the likes of Formula 1 and MotoGP took place on Wattbikes and you couldn't fail to be wowed by the enormous display… continue reading

How do you know if you have an efficient pedal stroke or not? Certainly this was a question that I tried to ignore when I first started cycling. I knew that my pedal stroke wasn’t the best of the people that I rode and trained with but I had no insight into why it wasn’t as good as the pedal stroke that they were able to produce. Great news came in today that Australian elite triathlete, Lisa Marangon, crushed the opposition in Ironman Yeppoon 70.3, finishing nearly 4 minutes ahead of the opposition. Lisa has been training on a Wattbike throughout 2012 and it's no doubt helped both her cycle and run legs. One thing that Lisa has improved on is her run leg off the bike, something we see a lot from triathletes who train on a Wattbike. Recruitment of the correct leg… continue reading

The Numbers Hopefully you’ve been enjoying the Tour de France as much as we have, particularly now that we’ve entered the high mountains and the General Classification challengers have come to the fore. We’ve been looking forward to seeing some of the data files supplied by the guys at Training Peaks from the likes of Jani Brajkovic who finished 8th on yesterday’s difficult stage in the Alps. Some numbers from Jani on… continue reading

We recently caught up with Australian Steve Hooker, gold medallist pole vaulter from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, who has had quite a journey in getting back to fitness in preparation for the defence of his title in London. Steve has been working hard on the Wattbike at Western Australia Institute of Sport (WAIS) to regain fitness and confidence in his quest for further Olympic glory and our colleagues in Germany are giving Steve a helping hand… continue reading
