Adidas Microsoft Challenge Teams Take In The Wattbike

In the spacious surroundings of the atrium of Adidas HQ in Stockport a cheering crowd of fellow staff members some hanging over the balcony watched 4 teams battle it out for the honour of being the top team in the Wattbike/Concept 2 Rowing challenge.
4 teams, 6 members, 7 races, Points awarded for finishing position, 4, 3, 2 and 1.
The Races:
Wattbike – 500m, 750m and 1000m
Rowing – 500m, 750m, and 1000m
And then one member of each team had to undertake a gruelling biathlon 1000 m on the Wattbike followed immediately by 1000m on the rower.

Team 'Fitness for Fun' got off to a flying start in the 500m Wattbike race storming into the lead to finish in an impressive 29.28 – 4 points to 'Fitness for Fun', 3 for 'Impossible', 2 for 'Listen, Test, Modify' and 1 for 'Semi-Pro'.

The 750m Wattbike race was incredibly close with 'Semi-Pro' and 'Listen, Test, Modify' battling it out right to the line. 'Semi-Pro' ran out the victor by 0.29 of a second to record a time of 53.39 against 'Listen, Test, Modify'’s 53.68. – 4 points to 'Semi-Pro', 3 to 'Listen, Test, Modify', 2 to 'Fitness for Fun' and 1 to 'Impossible'.

Onto the 1000 m Wattbike race, 'Impossible' went out to an early lead closely followed by 'Semi-Pro' but 'Impossible' held on to win in an excellent time of 1:16.69 – 4 points to 'Impossible', 3 to 'Semi-Pro', 2 to 'Listen, Test and Modify' and 1 to 'Fitness for Fun'.

Onto the first leg of the biathlon – here some tactics came into place with riders ‘saving’ themselves for the 1000m row to come straight after. 'Semi-Pro' and 'Fitness for Fun' battled it out with saving their best cyclists until last as they finished in 1:10.77 (a whopping speed of over 50kmh) and 1:14.72 – 4 points to 'Semi-Pro', 3 to 'Fitness for Fun', 3 to 'Impossible' and 1 to 'Listen, Test, Modify'.

Overall result was a win for Fitness for Fun with 25 points followed by Semi-Pro on 21 points and Listen, Test, Modify and Impossible tied in third place on 17 points each.
