Great news yesterday as it was announced Sam Tomkins had signed an extended deal with Wigan Warriors rugby league club which will see him remain with the North-West club through the Rugby League World Cup in 2013. I've seen Sam play a few times for Wigan and had the pleasure of meeting him at the recent England training camp prior to the opening game…

This morning I headed down to Leigh Sports Village in the North-West of England to see the national team training ahead of their opening fixture in the Gillette Four Nations rugby league tournament. The players were going through a light workout, with the first game against Wales taking place tomorrow. It was a gloriously sunny morning and it was interesting…

One of the things I really love about the Wattbike community is the willingness to share training sessions here on the blog, on Facebook and Twitter, it really helps everybody that owns a Wattbike to get the most out of their training. We find a lot of people doing sportive or triathlons tweeting about their latest training session but it's a rare occasion…

We're always looking out to see how the elite athletes and pro sports clubs using the Wattbike are doing and last weekend more than pleasantly surprised us! First up was Jenny Meadows, GB 800m athlete competing in the Diamond League meeting in London. Jenny, who recently spoke to us about her training for the upcoming World Championships, produced a…

I fired up Tweetdeck at around 08:30 this morning to see a flurry of tweets from Wigan Warriors academy players talking about a Wattbike session they'd just completed. A couple of players including John O'Donnell and Scott Leatherbarrow were certainly letting the world know that the Wattbike was not their best friend, especially at 08:00 on a Monday…

The Falcons have a great stadium just outside Newcastle-upon-Tyne city centre and…

Normally we try really hard to push the Wattbike brand wherever we go, but after visiting Wigan Warriors earlier in the year and finding out that they call their Wattbike the SpuBike (that, apparently is the local spelling of Spew!) we wanted to find out what progress had been made. We weren't disappointed by the news from Mark Bitcon, Head of Sport…

A couple of weeks ago we visited the Wigan Warriors (see Wigan Warriors vs. Wattbike) and caught up with Mark Bitcon their head physiologist. We have pulled together a video of our time with him, which is well worth a watch. The guys for the session were Pat Richards (@patrichards5) and Eammon O’Carroll (@freddyocarroll)

England Rugby Sevens have been using the Wattbikes as part of their training. We dropped them an email to see how they are getting on and this is what we got back, a testimonial - great. As part of a joint research team from the EIS, UK Sport and Liverpool John Moores University I recently undertook two consecutive days of testing with the England 7’s…
