I have just got my bike today and was looking for any training programmes to get fit initially.  Any hints or tips appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Jonathan
We are currently working on the content for the Wattbike Training Centre. In the mean while I will ask Eddie Fletcher our resident Sports Scientist and training expert to get in contact with you.
I hope that helps.

Hi there

I too got my bike just yesterday and I’m looking for some informed advice with training. I took part in my first Triathlon ( London - sprint distance) and have signed up for next year. I’m looking to shed time on the bike section and would welcome any advice to build stamina and speed.. Not asking for much i know!!

Thanks in advance

Alex

Hi guys,

I am a keen cyclist and can give you some advice on how to improve without going the whole way and employing a personal trainer.  Sign up for Training Peaks year programme which is a web based system tracking all your metrics from nutrition to performance.  Test yourself on Wattbike and find your functional threshold power output FTP in watts. ( pedal 20 minutes for your max output and take off 5% to get your FTP ).  Go to Training Peaks and purchase a 3 month training plan based on your FTP devised by Hunter Allan, a world renowned guru in training with power.  Inport this programme into your online calendar and voila you have your own plan based on wattage.  The site even sends you e-mails with your next daily workout!  Do it and you’ll never look back!
