In Schools
In October 2008 the Wattbike was launched after 8 years of hard work with British Cycling and has fantastic potential for schools and colleges. What makes the Wattbike stand out is its monitor containing accurate data, as well as the accurate feel of cycling. No other bike out there gives accurate feedback, and you can run virtual competition, leagues and live events all for free when you have the Wattbikes. It is the only indoor bike ever to be endorsed by British Cycling and all their coaches and athletes use them. We run free virtual competitions, the live-racing software is free and it attracts the full range of students from the sporty to the non-sporty. It is also great for cross-curricular learning and for teaching students with learning difficulties too.
Friary School, Lichfield - Phil Kelly:
"The big draw for many of the users has been the on screen racing capability; it is so impressive and easy to use."
Rodborough School, Surrey - Anne Harding, Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator:
"I originally got it to use as part of an alternative to the P.E curriculum for three disabled youngster in the school. We have found that they are less disruptive in class and have such a fantastic sense of achievement when they achieve the targets they have been set."
