Wattbike Studio increases class occupancy rates to 80%
Since installing their new Wattbike indoor cycling studio in September last year, Holme Pierrepont Country Park, a Serco Leisure site that is also home to the National Water Sports Centre, has seen significant increase in their cycle studio usage.
Previous to the install, the cycling classes were reported at a very low occupancy rate. With the studio repurposed as a Wattbike studio, including full graphics, Wattbike branding as well as a big screen for interactive classes, the occupancy has now grown to 80% usage per class, showing a total increase of 150% in indoor cycling class occupancy as a whole.
Jack Garner, Contract Manager at Holme Pierrepont, comments: “We also host a huge local cycling community, with over 12,000 British Cycling registered members within a 5-mile radius of us. Because of this we’ve seen enormous interest from the local cycling and triathlon community, who have already booked up our available block sessions all the way through until Christmas!”
"Usage and footfall has noticeably increased since launching the Wattbike studio, with nine new members signing up the evening we launched. We are a National Sports Centre, with elite partners, but also accommodate for regular gym users. Therefore we needed something that would appeal to every member."

Wattbike studio doubles as talent identification centre
The studio will be multi-purpose, so from an elite perspective British Rowing, British Canoeing and the England Institute of Sport will be making use of the Wattbike studio for talent identification, training, testing and rehabilitation. The facilities will also be used for regular small group training and personal training sessions available to the general public.
Jack Garner, Contract Manager at Holme Pierrepont, comments: “From elite through to our everyday members, it’s been encouraging to see such a broad range of our member demographic getting the most out of the new studio.”
“We have a real mix of members; from the tech-driven millenials and students, through to affluent professionals and the active aging population, all who have welcomed the studio with positive feedback.”
