The HUUB Wattbike team will be welcoming back a familiar face at the UCI National Championships later this month.
After losing Harry Tanfield to Katusha-Alpecin on the World Tour last year, and the departure of short term support Ashton Lambie after the World Cup in London, British Cycling’s Charlie Tanfield is set to ride the line in Manchester.
Charlie went from strength to strength in 2018. Last year he picked up gold in the team pursuit at the World Championships with Team GB, after riding the World Cup season for Team KGF, now known as HUUB Wattbike, and then raced for England at the Commonwealth Games - resulting in a Silver medal in the 4km Team Pursuit and a Gold medal and Games Record in the 4km Individual Pursuit.
HUUB Wattbike team principal Dan Bigham says: “We won’t be able to ride with Charlie until the night before Nationals, where we’ll have half an hour together,” Dan says, “But we’re confident. He can ride team pursuit; we’ve ridden with him many times over.”
