Team GB ready for Sochi

Team GB Wattbike

Today we’re really proud to announce that we’ll be supporting Team GB at the XXII Olympic Winter Games. The team will have use of a number of Wattbikes in their Olympic Village bases in Sochi, Russia throughout the Games for both training and recovery.

The Wattbike will be a familiar sight to many of the athletes and coaches heading to Sochi 2014 as they will have spent years preparing at Wattbike-equipped elite training facilities across the UK, such as Bath and Loughborough Universities. We're excited to see how those flying the British flag in Sochi will perform.

Athletes from sports as diverse as skeleton, speed skating and alpine skiing will benefit from preparation and recovery on the Wattbike during the Games. Ensuring athletes are in prime condition for the world’s best winter sporting event

Richard Baker, Commercial Director at Wattbike said: “The use of Wattbikes by Team GB validates our position as the number one indoor bike. For elite athletes and coaches the Wattbike is the perfect tool to ensure they reach the start line in the best possible condition. Being able to support our winter sport athletes is something we are once again very proud of.”

Paul Ford, Sport Engagement Manager at BOA said: “It is great to be able to provide Team GB athletes with Wattbikes for preparation and recovery in the Games environment. Having high quality equipment such as this for our athletes to use exclusively in the Olympic Village environment will support them to achieve peak performance.”
