What's on in January

If you’re in need of another reason to hop back on your bike and leave the post-Christmas slump behind you, just take a look at the January Calendar for inspiration.

This month has a lot to offer across track, cyclocross and World Tour. Read on to find out exactly what’s going on and who to be looking out for:


UK Championships
12th-13th- Cyclopark, Kent

Telenet UCI Cyclocross World Cup
20th- France

January is an exciting month for cyclocross, particularly for Britain’s young talent. As we approach the World Championships at the end of February, we can expect to see the u23’s Anglo-Belgium rivalry come to a close, as Pidcock and Iserbyt prepare to face off in the finale of the year. Another one to watch is GB’s Ben Tulett, who’s showing huge promise in the junior category. In terms of the Men’s Elite category, keep an eye on Mathieu van der Poel, who recently rode to a win in Brussels -his 23rd win of the season.


Track World Cups
18th-20th- New Zealand
25th-27th- Hong Kong

British National Championships
24th-27th- Manchester

It’s also a busy month for track, with the UCI Track World Cup series continuing in New Zealand and Hong Kong, before culmination at the World Championships in Poland at the end of February. The British National Championships are also set to take place this month, and Team HUUB Wattbike will be looking to pick up wins in the individual pursuit, team pursuit and the kilo. Tour Down Under
10th-20th- Adelaide

Summer is in full swing over in Australia, and between the from January 10th to the 20th the Tour will take over. GB have Team Sky flying the flag, with British riders Owain Doull and Luke Rowe hoping to bring home the title. Brits James Knox (Deceuninck-Quickstep), Alex Dowsett (Katusha Alpecin), Daniel McClay (Education First) and Scott Davies (Team Dimension Data) will also be racing.
