Bupa recently showcased their new Manchester flagship location in a busy business district in Manchester City Centre on Marble Street. The aim is to offer customers a first-class customer experience with the Peak Health Assessment test, which was recently launched in collaboration with Wattbike and is available on the Wattbike Hub app.
Sarah Melia, Director at Bupa Health Clinics, states: “health assessments are a fantastic way of getting a snapshot of your health and we are always looking for new ways to take them to the next level. Our partnership with Wattbike is really exciting as it gives our customers the chance to trial cutting edge technology which was previously the reserve of elite sports people. It’s an exciting addition to our offering and will help people take control of their health and lifestyle.”
Full Wattbike graphics were installed in the assessment room prior to launch, which will see customers and patients undertake the Peak Health Assessment test to improve their cardiovascular health to ultimately extend their life.
Richard Baker, Wattbike CEO, comments: “testing to benchmark health and fitness is vital. It’s how we establish a starting point on which to improve. We are extremely proud to have partnered with Bupa on this. We’re providing them with an advanced, non-invasive fitness test to measure physiological responses to exercise which offers practical guidance towards improved levels of health, fitness and performance. By providing this style of personalised coaching, the support tools help people set a benchmark that can be reviewed and improved upon, encouraging them to make necessary lifestyle changes to lead healthier lives.”
At the launch event, the board of Bupa was in attendance to show press, staff and customers the new site and to give them a taste of the Peak Health Assessment. In addition to this, Rugby League winners Salford Red’s were there to support and showcase how the team train and test on the Wattbikes.
Danny Brown, Regional Operations Manager at Bupa, comments: "The opening of our new clinic in Marble Street, Manchester, is a ‘clinic of the future’ for Bupa, with a completely new design and less clinical feel. We will continue to run our health assessments, MSK appointments and GP appointments from the clinic and hope our customers will like the new space as much as the team based there. We chose to partner with Wattbike this year as we wanted to update our previous bike test and Wattbike seemed like a natural fit for our clinics, with their high standards and state-of-the-art equipment. Customers who have already used the Wattbike within our Peak health assessment are very impressed with it and the structured training plan it provides.”
