Chloé Dygert sets new world record at World Track Championships

March 02, 2020 1 min read

New Wattbike ambassador, Chloé Dygert, rode to victory yet again at the 2020 Track World Championships in Berlin this weekend. Now 10x UCI champion, Chloé also celebrated beating her own IP world record, twice, by a whole three seconds.

Chloé qualified with the fastest time in the 3KM IP with a time of 3:17.283, beating her previous record set in Apeldoorn in 2018, before taking the win in the final with an even quicker time of 3:16.937.

Earlier in the week, Chloé and the USA women’s team took gold in the Team Pursuit, the team’s fourth gold medal in five years. Facing a final against a GB team of Katie Archibald, Neah Evans, Elinor Barker and Eleanor Dickinson, Chloé and co raced to secure the top of the podium, beating GB by 1.894 seconds.

Malaysian track cyclist, Azizul Awang also did the Wattbike tribe proud, picking up a bronze medal in the Keirin.

Elsewhere, HUUB Wattbike’s Ashton Lambie took silver in the men’s individual pursuit, narrowly losing out to Italy’s Fillipo Ganna, who set a new world record in qualifying. The new record stands at 4:01.934, but as, HUUB Wattbike were quick to point out, the sub 4 minute IP chase goes on, and Lambie will join the boys in Bolivia in April with the hopes of taking back his record, and claiming a number of others.
